Stage one of the Waikaia Forest Trails hub base in Waikaia township, which includes  pump track and picnic area. Graded Earth from Christchurch completed the development and build of the hub base. They were supported by Wilkins Farming, Russcoll Excavating, Switzers Valley Transport, Nathan Braithwaite – Wilkins Farming, SVT gravel/consent, James and Denise Anderson and Ray and Mairi Dickson. It has been an exciting time for the Waikaia Trails Trust and the Waikaia Community after 2 years of planning and completing all necessary documents with SDC. Generous grants from funding organisations and other community run fundraising events enabled the Waikaia Forest Trails Project to move to the build stage. The Trust would like to thank all the incredible and much appreciated support we have received from so many different elements of the Southland community.
